10K CLASSIC
The 10k Classic offers an achievable goal for the relatively new runner as well as a PB chaser for more experienced athletes. The course is a double out-and-back which includes the beautiful Beachlands foreshore, Omana Regional Park and Leigh Auton Reserve. There are a few very gentle undulations to take care of but the wide harbour views are more likely to command your attention.
Come on over a see if you can snag a new PB at the Maraetai Half Marathon 10k classic!

The Course
The 10K Classic course is a double out-and-back with 5km to the east of the venue - which follows the first and last 2.5km of the half marathon - and 5km to the west. The start takes advantage of the half marathon lane closure on the Beachlands-Maraetai Rd, leaving a shortened section on the Beachlands Esplanade to the first turnaround point. Returning via Omana Regional Park, you'll pass the finish line for the first time at the half way mark.
The second 5k is an out-and-back through Leigh Auton Reserve and local roads to the west of the venue. The final section includes a long, gentle downhill with views of the beach, the park and the all-important finish line!
